Official notes for 01.08.01.00 say an offline jump from 01.04.00.00 or older can garble on-screen text — run the offline update a second time, or connect the printer to the network. Notes around the 01.07 releases say an offline update from 01.06.00.00 or older fails while an AMS, AMS 2 Pro, or AMS HT is connected. Disconnect those, or update online.
